REFLECTION… a dream come true
I have but one goal for 2011 as far as writing and blogging is concerned – to get my own book published.
It was in 2009 when I got a taste of how it was to be part of a printed book via Inspirational Thoughts and Stories from Blogger All Over the World, and again, it happened at the end of 2010 via Combined Hearts, World of Love Stories Around the World.
Notice how they both have World (“all over” and “around”) in the title, because they were both compilations of contributions of writers from different parts of the globe. I am honored to be part of both projects… yet, I still cannot call them my OWN book.
The dream of publishing my own book is scratching itself into my consciousness. Being a part, a contributing writer, of the first two books only successfully whets my desire to have my own book published. A desire that I intend to fulfill… THIS YEAR.
REFLECTION, a collection of poems written from my teens, to my early adulthood, and up to the present times, will be the fulfillment of that lifelong dream.
Expressing in raw, untamed and unadulterated poetry, the feelings and experiences that I have been through. Things that I have seen and felt as I travelled in this journey called life.
Written mostly in daily conversational English, and with the absence of highfalutin’ words, do not expect to be in awe. With the intention of expressing myself, my end is for readers to see what I saw, to feel what I felt, and to be where I have been.
I am sharing in this book, practically, my life… my whole being.
And if the forces of the universe worked for me, if all the planets aligned in my favor, bringing to me all the people, and all the necessary resources, to make this dream a reality, REFLECTION will be released on May 8, 2011, on the occasion of my 43rd birthday.
This is my personal invitation to everybody – bloggers and non-bloggers alike, my readers and passersby, friends and the nonchalant, poetry lovers and the plain curious, to partake of my dream… partake of my life…. partake of my journey… partake of my REFLECTION…
And you know that when one dream gets fulfilled… a bigger dream is sure to follow…
I am the struggling blogger… and I breathe blogs…

I’m pulling for you to get your book published. I do want to say that even if you can’t find a publisher I encourage you to self publish and put it out as an ebook as well as a regular book. That counts just as well, and you just might find the audience you’re looking for.
