This Mother’s Day, help make a difference
It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 9, and many of us will be expressing our love and gratitude for the greatest person in the world -- OUR MOTHER.
We can make this year’s Mother’s Day extra special by doing our share in alleviating the plight of other mothers in other parts of the world.
We are luckier. Maybe we do not realize it, maybe we think we really don’t have enough. But believe me, we are luckier.
Mother’s Day is coming up on May 9 in many countries around the world -- it’s an important day since no mother should have to choose between feeding herself and feeding her child, yet millions do. A child dies every 6 seconds because of hunger, we can change that and help a mother feed her child for Mother’s Day.
That was part of the message I received in my email this morning. And it is really disheartening to know the conditions of other people -- especially mothers and children, in other parts of the world.
The truth is that, one way or another, we must be aware of it already. We just look the other way.
But we really don’t have to do much or give so much to help. Little gestures can go a long way… a really long way.
This occasion of Mother’s Day gives us a perfect opportunity to share our compassion for the less fortunate mothers who have to make the decision between “feeding herself or feeding her child.”
And this we can do as we honor our mother and make them feel special.
Send your mother, and your wife an eCard from the World Food Programme, and as you express your love your mother, you help change another mother’s life.
Go ahead, send a Mother’s Day eCard now. Not only will your mother be thankful of your gesture, she would even be proud of your act of generosity and compassion towards other mothers.
It doesn’t take much… just little gestures… a dash of concern… and these small acts, when combined can create a big impact in helping lessen, if not totally end, hunger around the world.
Together, we can help make that change.
Here’s s video showing a message for Mother’s Day from WFP.
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. WFP is part of the United Nations system and is voluntarily funded. To find out more, go to: www.wfp.org.

Well, I know you’re a guy, but I understand that you also have to do the role of a mother.
So, happy mother’s day!
By the way, nice cause – we can also be mothers not only with our families but also to the hungry!
