How I will choose my Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010

In less than a month and after the iBlog6, it will be all systems go for the Top Ten Emerging Influential Blogs 2010. It will start in May and Janette has made a follow-up to her teaser post, which is the FAQ to Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs 2010, please visit it to get a better understanding of this writing project – mission, rules, mechanics, etc.
With the EIB 2010 just right around the corner, do you already have your list? I have been scouting since late last year for my nominees, don’t have a final list yet but I have already seen some potentials. But how do you choose your top 10?
Here’s my personal guide on how I will choose my top 10 list of emerging influential blog:
Regional
Yes, you can call me the caveman blogger and I won’t mind. But since I started writing about my own city and my own language, I have become more attached to my province and I feel I need to push Kapampangan bloggers to the mainstream, and therefore I sure would like to have at least 3 on my list who are either a Kapampangan or from Pampanga.
BUT! Unlike other caveman bloggers (yes, I still remember them), I can see beyond my tribe. Therefore, I will complete my list because there are a lot of blogs out there, and it would be too cruel to say, “I can’t see other blogs who are qualified.” Really now, coming from another blogger?
Friendship is not a requisite
Yes, I admit. I do have a lot blogger friends but friendship is definitely not a pre-requisition. It is definitely not a requirement, nor do I feel obligated to them. I can definitely include a total stranger on my list if the blog really strikes me even with just a single visit. In fact I do have one or two on my list… if only I can remember their URL.
Positivity
There’s already too much chaos and hatred going around. Let’s no longer contribute to it. We can always express opposing point of views without calling names. I would like to see a blog who’s more on the positive side. Of course, you can rant on your blog. We all do, but what I’m saying is the general tone of the blog.
Yes, I love humor, especially if it’s done clean and without the intent to malign or put down anybody.
Want it, work for it
There’s nothing worse than a vote going to waste because the nominee didn’t even bother lifting a finger. Makes you feel you made a wrong choice.
First, if you want it, SAY SO! Don’t be a coy, and say you don’t want it… because, I WILL BELIEVE YOU.
Next, if you really want it, work for it. Go out and announce your blog, comment on other blogs but make sure your comment is relevant to the post. Don’t say vote for me when the post is about iPad, earning money, kare-kare recipe… you get the point.
But in blog posts like this you can always say, “Please vote for me.” I don’t guarantee I will, but hey! I’m not the only who’s reading this. And by the way, there are also other posts on this blog aside from this, you know what I mean 
These are just my guides. I do not say that they are absolute. Maybe it will all depends on my mood too at the time I visit a particular blog. They are not the contest rules, and therefore you may follow your own standards as long as the list conforms to the rules.
Okay, I’ve said a mouthful, and now it’s time to go back scouting for nominees… or at least try to recall the URL’s of those two blogs.

Sir, It makes me think if i really want it or not. I previously said that i do not want it but mixed emotions now. Not at this time i know, maybe next year or next next year. There are lot of things to share, to study and the most important thing is if i am willing to open up. I have crazy mind right now. I need to look back because i need to have personal check first.

Positivity. That’s a great yardstick, Roy. This is foremost in my mind, too.
Friendship is not a requisite. Now, that’s playing it fair and being objective. I’m sure new bloggers aspiring to be nominated will love that. I’d do my best to give new bloggers a fair shot.
I should start poking around archives. I still have no candidates! Ahehehe

If Jan likes Positivity… I prefer your phrase, “Want It Work for It” I think that’s what the writing project is all about. You can’t be influential if one does not show that you’re working for it.
