More family matters – Christmas Party

Okay, so I’ve featured my girl dancing in school program. I’ve also showcased my son singing (although not seen on the video) singing with the choir. Would it really bother you if I show you more of them?

This time, I’m featuring our family Christmas Party. It’s a tradition where the kids and I hold a little celebration where we have fun and games. A tradition that was started by my wife that we would like to continue in her memory.

Christmas party 2009 programmeTrying to improve my so-so hosting performance from last year’s party, I even prepared a program for this year. (It would have served as an invitation, but we’re just within arm’s reach :) )

And because I have a program to follow, there wasn’t any lull. It was mostly moments to rest because of too much laughing that halts the program.

The party would always start with an opening prayer and welcome remarks by yours truly, followed by the kid’s Christmas message to their mother.

Games then followed.

The family favorite ice-breakers has always been the longest sound and the funniest face, with Edgar winning in both of them.

It was Edgar who won most of the games for the night, including the biggest prize of P100 for the treasure hunt game.

As in previous Christmas parties, I’ve always asked the kids to prepare a number for the intermission.

Edgar sang a song accompanying himself on the guitar

Ralph also sang, with Edgar providing him the accompaniment

and of course, Angel won’t be outdone, she danced to one of her favorite song from Kara

Other games played were the polvoron eating contest won by Ralph, and Pinoy Henyo with Edgar again winning both of his rounds, earning him an additional prize.

The scramble for coins and candies is another favorite of the kids, and will always be the last part of the party before we have our Noche Buena.

Revelations for the exchange gifts followed, after which the celebration was wrapped up.

Looking forward to next year’s Christmas party.
