Being true to their words (finally!) that they will announce the winners on September 7, 2009 (a day earlier even), the organizers of the Gig Book Story Writing Contest has released the winners of the writing contest.

The ten authors will receive P20,000 each, a winner’s certificate, and a chance for their story to be published as a full-color, fully-illustrated children’s book.

Thanks. I am so elated as that was my first attempt at writing a short story and for children to boot. I was really surprised and pleasantly so. I will now write more children’s tales. Have a good week.

hey! feels good to have won! Twenty thousand doesn’t sound much today, (what with the prices!) but it still helps. Writing has been a good exercise for me to organize my thoughts.
