Friends and bloggers
The online world is a fun and dynamic environment. You get to meet a lot of interesting characters who all seem to be friendly as well.
Of course, there are the ‘not-so-friendly’ online personalities, but they’re not really that many to dampen one’s beautiful online experience.
It’s easy to fake a good personality online, it’s easy to assume another character… and it is for this reason that some would never dare go for a real world meet-up. They might not be able to play the part.
But for the Jedi Bloggers, an eyeball, or a real world meet up is not such a herculean task that is hard to accomplish – for one, what has been displayed online is also the same person offline – no pretensions.
I never doubted.
So when they came to Angeles City, I was excited. While I was not really the main host, I was as delighted to play the supporting part. You know, the one who’d say, “Come, let’s eat!” or “did you have fun?”
Fortunately for me, the Clin Chem Student Bloggers made sure everything was taken care of, which was a great relief for this awkward semi-host.
The place, the food, the entertainment (hey, they sang for us
), I thought I acted as a guest myself as well. Honestly there weren’t really any work to be done. There was only one task for the day – to have fun.
And fun we had.
From the Metrogate clubhouse, where my kids had great time, to the KTV performances where I, who wasn’t really under the spirit of San Miguel, sang to my heart’s content.
Hats off to Jena, the main host, who made sure we won’t go home wanting,
And to my blogging buddies, Jan, Zorlone, Lyle, Bonnie and Novz, who all came from different parts of the country – literally, just to be with us, THANK YOU!
Most especially, I have mentioned them before, but they were so much fun to be with and worked so hard to prepare for the meet-up, I need to mention them a second time. Thank you CC Bloggers and good luck to all of you!
I am such a lousy event blogger, I don’t know how to put all the details, so I’ll just let the pictures speak.

There goes the buro again and grilled fish. These pics I don’t have on my page. But at least the pics of the two cakes. lols.
You know what, Roy? If we’re not really close friends online I’d not find the guts to show up. I don’t mix well with strangers, that’s why. Really, it takes months before I feel comfortable with new acquaintances. But perhaps that’s the magic of online friendships: it shortcircuits the process.
Of course, I can talk with people – this much is certain. But to feel the instant connection is very rare for me. Our group is a happy exception of course.
Perhaps, talking, replying, tweeting, emailing and being there for each other almost day and night has got something to do with it no?
You’re absolutely right. These young bloggers had been gracious hosts and made us not too conscious about our age. It will be great if they keep blogging so we can keep the connection going.
And thanks too to Jen for making this meet up a very memorable event.

hey, you’re still up!
‘was about to retire when I recieve a notice of your comment. now, I know I can sleep well
yes, I was about to right – “they made us feel young” hehe… just don’t know where to insert that line
oh, yes of course, our online communications has a lot to with the connection. and because we read each others’ blogs and commetns, we got to know each other well too

I say, yes to all of those mentioned. You’ve finally made a proper post of the event. I know I have to compose one myself. The post at multiply is not enough to record all my observations. But I’m having second thoughts as you might not want me to be candid about these…he he he…
It was an enriching experience indeed. I am blessed to have made your acquaintances online and now offline. Thanks for gracing the occasion with your vital presence.
Till the next meet up, cheers!

The CC bloggers are on the first week of internship Roy. They waited for this for months, so they might not be able to have time to read this post. But eventually, I know they will, after they have settled down in their respective centers.
