Free Pizza! Domino gave away 11,000 pizza as ‘bailout’ prize!
It wasn’t a bug, nor an effect of the Conficker worm, and it’s denitely not an April Fool’s prank that made Domino give away 11,000 pizza for free!
Michelle Imsickle, who discovered the free pizza deal by accident, couldn’t believe that Domino is giving away a free pizza, but she definitely wouldn’t let a good offer like that pass.
“I heard of them doing things like this, giving discounts, but a free one shocked me,” said Imsicke, 38, of Harrison. “But I said, ‘If they are doing it, I’m going to grab one.’”
So she did, and got her free pizza! She spread the word, and as they say, it has a ‘Domino effect‘ as the news spread throughout Greater Cincinatti and Northern Kentucky, and before they knew it, Domino has given away 11,000 free pizza.
The culprit, a company online promo in December for a free pizza, using the codeword “bailout.” The promotin was not given a green light, according to Tim McIntyre, Domino’s vice president of communications. Unfortunately, it wasn’t de-activated either.
It was left in the website, which made it a valid promo, until Imsickle discovered it. And before they were able to shut it out, 11,000 pizza were already given away.
John Glass, owner of 14 Domino outlets in the Cincinnati area said his stores were hardly hit, as they gave away more than 600 to 700 pieces of pizza. All his outlets are located near campuses
Domino promised to reimbursed the outlets for the cost of the free pizza.
If there’s one benefit Domino has gotten from this, albeit at the cost of 11,000 pizza, is that many people got to sample their product and they might be converted to loyal customers soon.

Oo nga , I had two tansans noon ha, 2 million din iyon, di nila pinalitan. Some people pursued it however, I think they got 500,000.

sayang, you should have pursued it.
That was clearly an error on the part of Pepsi, which they did not own. Domino was a more reputable company I guess. Not making any excuses in its lapses.
